The preliminary tourism results for 2024 show record highs in Portugal, both in the number of overnight stays and in the number of guests
In 2024 as a whole (preliminary data), tourist accommodation establishments recorded 31.6 million guests and 80.3 million overnight stays, reflecting annual increases of 5.2 per cent and 4.0 per cent respectively.
Overnight stays from foreign markets predominated (70.3% of total overnight stays in 2024), totalling 56.4 million, and grew by 4.8%. The domestic market contributed 23.9 million overnight stays (+2.4%).
