Portugal is hosting the 2030 World Cup
Portugal is hosting the 2030 World Cup and expects an impact of more than 800M€ and an increase in tourism revenue.
The Prime Minister of Portugal, Luís Montenegro, believes that the 2030 World Cup, which will also take place in Portugal, will be ‘a very positive moment’ for the country.
Citing a study carried out by a consultancy last October on the economic returns of this event, he expects an economic impact of more than 800 million euros, with a 2.3 per cent increase in tourism revenue and the creation of around 20,000 jobs. The Prime Minister also pointed out that ‘in the Portuguese case, every euro invested will result in a return of 8.5 euros’.
