Mastercard’s Travel Trends Report 2025: Portugal among the countries leading wellness tourism in 2025
The Mastercard Economics Institute (MEI) has released its annual report, which reveals that Portugal is 12th on the list of leading destinations for wellness experiences.
According to the Wellness Travel Index (WTI), at the top of the list are Namibia, South Africa and Thailand, but Portugal is very well placed on this list, which points to the connection with nature, immersive ecological experiences and finding serenity in meditation retreats as the main motivations for visitors.
