Data from the 2024 Tourism Satellite Account
Tourism consumption accounted for 16.6% of GDP, maintaining the historic high reached in 2023, and amounted to 47.2 billion euros.
The Gross Value Added generated by Tourism stood at €20.1 billion, corresponding to 8.1% of national GVA, also an unprecedented figure in absolute terms.
With these results, tourism maintained its growth trajectory and its role as one of the main sectors of the Portuguese economy, registering nominal growth of 6.5%, thus outperforming the economy as a whole.
