Tourist transactions increased by 30 per cent over the Easter period, with Spanish and British visitors standing out.
Data shared by SIBS Analytics reveals that Portugal was the destination of many foreigners.
The number of purchases and withdrawals increased by 30 per cent and the amount spent by the same people by 22 per cent.
Among the main origins of tourists, analysing total consumption in Portugal, the Spanish stand out with 18% of transactions and those from the UK with 14%.
They are followed by the French, with 12 per cent of transactions in Portugal compared to the same period last year, the Americans with 7 per cent and Brazilians with 5 per cent.
