Tourism in Figures | June 2023
The tourist accommodation sector recorded 2.9 million guests and 7.4 million overnight stays in June 2023, corresponding to year-on-year increases of 7.1% and 3.7%, respectively. Compared to June 2019, there were increases of 4.3% and 3.8%, respectively.
Compared to the same period in the previous year, total revenue increased by 14.0%, reaching 622.1 million euros, and revenue from accommodation reached 480.6 million euros, reflecting year-on-year growth of 15.5%. Compared to June 2019, there were increases of 33.5% and 35.5%, respectively.
By June 2023, overnight stays amounted to 33,997.9 thousand and increased by 18.8% (+7.7% for residents and +24.2% for non-residents). Compared to the same period in 2019, overnight stays increased by 10.7%, because of the increase in overnight stays from non-residents (9.6%) and residents (13.2%).
Total revenue, which amounted to 2.5 billion euros by June 2023, grew by 31.8%, and revenue from accommodation, which amounted to 1.8 billion euros, grew by 34.0% (+38.3% and +41.7% compared to the same period in 2019, respectively).
Tourist receipts for the month of June amounted to 2.1 billion euros, representing a year-on-year increase of 16.4%. Compared to June 2019, a pre-pandemic year, revenue in June 2023 grew by 33.8%.
