AHP (Hotel Association of Portugal), relaunches Hotel Snapshot, an analysis of Tourism and Hospitality
Highlights of the year 2023:
– Travel and tourism exports reached 25 billion euros, an increase of 19% compared to 2022
– Main hotel indicators have already surpassed pre-pandemic values
– 72% of overnight stays were in hotel establishments (EH)
– Portuguese airports achieved monthly passenger records
– Tourism is made up of 25% immigrant workers
– Non-resident tourists have the highest total weight in overnight stays (68%) and guests (61%)
– The region with the biggest increase in non-resident guests was the Alentejo (+32%) compared to 2022
– The regions where the number of overnight stays by non-residents increased the most were the Center (+22% ) and the North (+21%), both compared to 2022.
